A message from ITU Nurse Olivia Archer

Dear Supporters,

Musgrove is now caring for more patients than it was at the peak of the pandemic last year. This is truly unprecedented. It has been called the worst situation the NHS has faced in living memory.

Thanks to donations from supporters like you, Love Musgrove was able to support the Hospital during the outbreak of Covid-19 last year, however, as the situation worsens – we once again need your help.

My name is Olivia and I am a Nurse on our Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) here at Musgrove; we are caring for our most ill patients including patients with Covid-19. I am proud to be working on the front lines during times like these, but it is safe to say things are tough.

During the first wave your donations really made a difference. Love Musgrove was able to fund a Colleague Wellbeing Phone Line so staff who are struggling under the immense pressure of this pandemic have someone to speak to. The charity also supplied over 15,000 staff meals giving us one less thing to think about during a long shift and have paid for 50 iPads to help those patients isolated in hospital to communicate with their loved ones.

The challenges of the first wave have now returned so we really need your help again, so that Love Musgrove can continue with their amazing work to support my colleagues and I during this difficult time. A gift of any size means a great deal to NHS staff, knowing that although you cannot be here with us, you are helping and thinking of us. It is a real morale boost!
